Science week
Science Week at our school began with an exciting visit to the SIREXE exhibition. This event offered students the opportunity to explore cutting-edge technologies in mining, petroleum, and energy. They were able to see advanced machinery and innovative equipment, giving them a firsthand look at the latest industry solutions. The exhibition also showcased renewable energy projects like solar power systems and bioenergy initiatives. Presentations from key industry players highlighted their most recent advancements and investments in Africa, offering valuable insights into the future of energy. Students engaged with various discussion panels and networking areas, learning about energy policies, extraction techniques, and sustainable development. Additionally, live demonstrations allowed them to experience energy-efficient solutions and the processes of resource extraction. It was an inspiring start to the week, giving students a real-world understanding of science and technology.

After the visit to SIREXE, the students turned their attention to the fascinating world of the human body. Throughout the week, they explored how some of the body’s most important organs function, including the teeth, lungs, and brain. In a simple and practical way, students learned about the anatomy of these organs and their roles in maintaining health and well-being. The hands-on approach allowed students to engage with the material in a fun and interactive way, sparking curiosity and deepening their understanding of the human body.

As part of the Science Week curriculum, the students ventured into the wonders of space. Through various activities, they learned about the planets, the moon, and rockets. These activities helped the students understand the vastness of the universe and the science behind space exploration. They were amazed to discover how much there is to learn about the cosmos and gained a new appreciation for the incredible achievements of space science. The students soon realized that, indeed, the sky is not the limit!

The final segment of Science Week focused on scientific concepts related to nature and energy. Students participated in activities that explored the natural world and the various forms of energy that power our planet. They learned about renewable energy sources, such as wind and solar power, and the importance of sustainable practices in preserving our environment. These activities helped students understand the delicate balance between nature and the energy we use, encouraging them to think critically about the future of the planet and the role of science in creating a more sustainable world.
